Mineral Makeup: My S.o.S Orange Blush

I’ve been forever getting around to making some more mineral makeup. For about 2 months now I’ve been dying for an orange blush. No matter where I shop or look my finds are either too costly or have some less than desirable ingredients mixed in them so I opted to make my own…not even sure why I had not done it already. So yesterday while the hubby was grilling + playing soccer with the little ones I had some free time to work on one {but had enough time to make two!}.
So I made a matte mineral blush + a shimmer mineral blush. I’m super excited about these because I honestly did not expect them to turn out so well considering I only had a few colors {for this particular blush} that I really wanted to work with.

Looks can be so deceiving when it comes to makeup, especially mineral makeup. What looks one way in the jar can look entirely different once applied. These two blushes look similar to a tan or dark mineral foundation, even my husband thought so when he looked in on me mixing them.

Once swatched I had to name them, loved both shades too much not to. This swatch was taken in natural light {near a window, facing it}. The top one has a shimmer, impossible to catch unless I go outside or used something better than a phone camera. And the bottom one is a matte orange, more of a true orange while the top has pink undertones.

This photo is taken away from the light, no flash or anything just to give another view of how it looks.

The whole process only took about 30 minutes + now I have my S.o.S {shades of summer} in punchy orange + peachy colors just the way I like them.

**Both photos taken without a flash in lighting as described. No artificial lighting or editing used {minus cropping}.
