DIY: Sugar Lip Scrub

Fun post today. Well fun for me + unless you have something way better or way cheaper it will be fun for you too. Ha ha sounds like I’m forcing the fun right? Then consider it forced!

The key to lipstick, gloss or even bare lip perfection is smooth lips. The key to smooth lips is exfoliating. Dead skin looks good on no one so get out a pencil + paper + make plans to take a quick trip to the health food store.

Commence: Operation Smooth Lips

What you need:

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Raw Honey {I use orange blossom honey, smells so delish!}

Brown Sugar {if you don’t have any already go for organic + small granules, otherwise you can grind them in a blender or mortar + pestle}

2-3 oz container with a lid {emptied clean baby food jar will do if you don’t have anything else}

Meadowfoam Seed oil {if you don’t find this in the store you can substitute with sweet almond oil}

What to do:

Mix 1 tbsp coconut oil with 1 tbsp of honey until they are clump-free. {let the coconut oil get room temp, it will be soft + easier to scoop}

Add 2 tsp {packed} brown sugar

Add 1 tsp sweet almond oil or  a few drops of meadowfoam seed oil

Mix well, scoop into your container + add a cute label. Keep it in the fridge + take out a few minutes prior to use. Discard after 2-3 weeks use. Though if you are exfoliating regularly your sweet little scrub should be gone by then + it will be time to make another.

To use: apply in small circular motions.

Hint you can use the same ingredients to make a foot or body scrub.
